Also known as magic star diamond and moissanite, its chemical name is synthetic silicon carbide.

It is a gemstone cultivated artificially for 6 months. Its appearance is similar to diamond.

It was originally developed and researched by the American C3 Company in 1998 with an investment of 45 million US dollars.

The patent protection for the patented product launched in June has expired in 2016, and moissanite is being produced in countries around the world.

Its chemical composition is SiC, nearly colorless, refractive index 2.56-2.69, dispersion 0.104, birefringence 0.043, hardness 9.25, density 3.22 g/cubic centimeter, reaching D color, Belgian cut, FL/IF clarity grade , can it be called a magic star diamond.

Please make sure that you follow below steps:

1.Differences in properties: The fire color of moissanite is more than 2.5 times that of diamond. The dispersion value of diamond is 0.044, while the dispersion value of moissanite is 0.104. You can see the difference by shining white light directly on the stone.

2.For diamonds and moissanite of the same quality, the fire color of moissanite is stronger than that of diamond. The fire color of diamonds is more cool-toned, mainly blue, while the fire color of moissanite is warm-toned, mainly orange-red.

3.The composition elements are different: diamond is carbon element C, and moissanite is silicon carbide SiC. It is impossible to distinguish the two with a drill pen.
